Welcome to Fling ("we," "our," or "us"). We operate the Fling mobile application (the "App"), a social dating platform that helps people discover, connect, and communicate with each other. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Account information – name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, and profile photos.
• Profile details – bio, interests, location (city/country), relationship preferences.
• Messages & content – chat messages, voice recordings, and images you send to other users or to AI features.
• Authentication credentials – if you sign in with Google, we receive your Google profile name, email, and profile picture.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Precise location – GPS coordinates (with your permission) to show you nearby people and power location-based matching.
• Approximate location – coarse location used as a fallback.
• Device identifiers – device model, OS version, app version, and advertising ID.
• Usage data – screens viewed, features used, tap events, session duration, and crash logs.
• Network data – IP address and connection type.

Fling integrates the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it processes data.

4. AI Features

Fling offers AI-powered features including an AI chat companion, AI voice calls, and speech-to-text input. Please be aware of the following:

• Text and voice messages you send to AI features are transmitted to Google's Gemini API (Firebase AI) for processing.
• Voice audio is converted to text on-device or via Google's speech services before being sent to the AI model.
• AI conversations are not stored long-term on our servers beyond what is needed to provide continuity within your session.
• Do not share sensitive personal information (financial details, passwords, medical data) with AI features.
• AI-generated responses are for entertainment purposes only and do not constitute advice of any kind.
• Google may process AI inputs in accordance with its own data-use policies for API services.

5. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• With other users – your public profile (name, photos, bio, age, location city) is visible to other Fling users as part of the service.
• Service providers – third-party vendors listed in Section 3 that process data on our behalf under data processing agreements.
• Legal requirements – if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
• Safety – to protect the rights, property, or safety of Fling, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers – in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. Specifically:

• Account data – retained until you delete your account.
• Messages – retained while the conversation exists; deleted when either party removes it.
• Profile photos – deleted from Firebase Storage within 30 days of account deletion.
• Analytics & crash data – anonymised and retained for up to 24 months.
• Location data – not stored persistently; used only in real-time for matching.

After account deletion, we may retain anonymised, aggregated data that cannot identify you.

7. Security

We implement technical and organisational measures to protect your data:

• All data is transmitted over TLS (HTTPS).
• Firebase Security Rules restrict database and storage access to authenticated users only.
• Firebase App Check with Play Integrity (Android) and App Attest (iOS) prevents unauthorised API access.
• Limited-use App Check tokens are generated per-request for all Firebase AI calls, preventing replay attacks.
• Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel only.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

Fling is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete their data promptly.

We will respond to valid requests within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

10. In-App Purchases

Fling offers coins and premium subscriptions via Google Play Billing. All payment transactions are handled entirely by Google Play. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card or banking information. We receive only a purchase token confirming your entitlement.

Refund requests are subject to Google Play's refund policy.

11. Push Notifications

We send push notifications for new matches, messages, and promotional offers. You can disable notifications at any time via your device settings or within the App (Settings > Notifications). Disabling notifications does not affect core app functionality.

12. Links to Other Sites

Fling may contain links to external websites (e.g. via Branch deep links or profile links shared by users). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external site you visit.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
